COMMUNITY INVITED TO FILL A BUS WITH SCHOOL SUPPLIES AT PUENTE HILLS MALL AUG. 2
Donated Supplies Help Rowland Unified Students in Need
ROWLAND HEIGHTS, CA – JULY 24, 2013 – The community is invited to help “Fill a Bus” with school supplies on Friday, August 2 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Puente Hills Mall. A 32’ school bus will be parked outside the AMC Theater Mall Entrance on the lower level with volunteers collecting donations such as: crayons, pencils, paper, erasers, colored pens/pencils, binders and calculators. Aldabella Scarpa has partnered with the Puente Hills Mall to collect school supply donations that will benefit children and schools from the Rowland Unified School District at their annual Shoe Giveback Events.
“A simple donation of a box of crayons, a notebook or a few erasers may not seem like much but it gives these children the tools to succeed,” said Monica Gonzales, co-owner of Aldabella Scarpa, a local shoe and clothing company who donates a pair of their designer shoes to American children in need with every pair of shoes purchased. The Aldabella Scarpa 5th Annual Shoe Giveback Event will take place this year at Hurley Elementary School in La Puente on August 16, 2013, where 300 girls preselected from Hurley Elementary, Northam Elementary and Villacorta Elementary will take part in a celebration with powerful female role models that will encourage them to succeed in school and follow their dreams.
With each school supply donation made at the Fill A Bus Event, Puente Hills Mall will offer “Earning for Learning” points to any local school the donor wishes. The Earning for Learning shopping promotion awards $10,000 to local schools every year. Shop at Puente Hills Mall between August 5 – September 15, 2013 and show your receipt to the Customer Service Desk and every dollar spent counts as a point for a local school. The Puente Hills Mall is located at 1600 S. Azusa Avenue in the City of Industry. For more information call (626) 912-8777 ext. 6810 or www.puentehills mall.com/earningforlearning.
