March 17, 2021
Dear Rowland Families:
Last night, March 16, 2021, the Board of Education held a Special Meeting to further discuss the opportunity to provide in-person support for our students during virtual learning. This special meeting was for the Board of Education to clarify the direction provided at the March 11, 2021, Board Meeting. The Rowland Unified School District will maintain the Virtual Classroom - distance learning - for all students in the morning while providing the opportunity for in-person support services for students two days per week. This in-person support will be provided during the instructional day, after lunch for two hours.
In continuing the dedication to provide care, connection, compassion and content; starting April 26, 2021, in-person student support services will be available at our schools and can be requested by teachers or parents. Again, this would be provided in the afternoons two times a week. As details are finalized, information will be shared with families after Spring Break.
We look forward to welcoming back our students to in-person learning beginning with a robust summer school and on August 9, 2021 for the 2021-2022 school year.
We appreciate your continued support and look forward to sharing more information with you after Spring Break, which is March 29 – April 2, 2021. If you have questions or need support, please do not hesitate to contact your school. While we are physically distant, we remain socially connected and are here to serve our students and families.
With Gratitude,
Julie Mitchell, Ed.D.
Superintendent
Rowland Unified School District
